📊 Midday Market Take
| S&P 500 | ▲ | +0.19% |
| Nasdaq | ▼ | -0.07% |
| Dow Jones | ▲ | +0.27% |
Hey there, happy to catch you mid-Wednesday as markets are doing their best impression of a group chat where nobody can agree.
The S&P 500 is nudging up 0.19% and the Dow is quietly grinding higher by 0.27%, while the Nasdaq is slipping just slightly into the red, down 0.07%. Tech is the odd one out today, dragging on the Nasdaq as some of the big growth names lose a little altitude heading into the afternoon. Keep an eye on whether buyers step in to defend those tech positions before the close, because a late-session drift lower there could shift the overall tone pretty quickly.

Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. develops medicines for the treatment of intractable diseases in the United States. Its pipeline includes Plozasiran to reduce production of apolipoprotein C-III in Phase 3 studies; Zodasiran to reduce production of angiopoietin-like protein 3 in Phase 3 clinical trials; ARO-DIMER-PA, a dual functional RNAi molecule in a Phase 1/2a clinical trials; and ARO-PNPLA3, an investigational RNAi therapeutic in Phase 1 clinical trials.
3 Reasons to Watch ARWR
- Plozasiran Just Crushed Its Phase 3 Trials. Arrowhead reported topline results from both the SHASTA-3 and SHASTA-4 studies of Plozasiran in severe hypertriglyceridemia patients, and the drug met high expectations across the board. When your lead pipeline candidate delivers in not one but two late-stage trials on the same day, that's the kind of binary event that reshapes a stock's trajectory.
- The Stock Is Up Over 500% in One Year. ARWR has returned more than 504% over the past 12 months, and today alone it jumped over 21% on the back of the Phase 3 news. The 90-day gain of 64% tells you this isn't a one-day story either — momentum has been building for months.
- A Sector Tailwind Just Got Switched On. Drug stocks broadly caught a bid after Trump announced a zero tariff policy affecting the pharmaceutical sector, giving the whole healthcare trade an extra push. For a biotech already moving on strong clinical data, that macro tailwind is a nice bonus on top of a fundamentally driven rally.
